Project Information

The Allou Fun Park (built in the run up to the 2004 Olympic Games) is the latest and greatest amusement theme park in Athens. GREENWAYS was responsible for the design and construction of the landscaping of the Park as well as the surrounding area of the Park. According to the clients’ needs, a “mature” garden was established (in the record period of 4 months), which included different subdivisions (eg subtropical formations, temperate woodlands, Mediterranean dry riverbanks, as well as shaded areas, flower beds and ponds).

Difficulties of the project included the stabilizing and improving of the existing soil (the area was a former garbage dump), the sustainable use of available water for irrigation as well as the successful establishment of the huge Bamboos and Palms (planting took place in mid summer). GREENWAYS is responsible for the maintenance of the Park from the completion of planting until today.
